Topic: Cell Phone Privacy and Forensics

Abstract:

Nearly everyone in the US owns a cell phone, and more than half of them are smartphones with processing capabilities than put the power of a-few-year-old computer to shame.  But with great power comes great reconnaissance, and as the field of cell phone forensics catches up to the tech we carry close nearly all of our waking hours, it’s giving birth to a new breed of privacy nightmare for citizens and criminals alike.

Speaker: Jason Briody, Director, Atlantic Data Forensics

Jason Briody is a Director at Atlantic Data Forensics and has worked on hundreds of cases involving on-site collections, ESI culling, forensic analysis, and expert testimony for clients that range from Fortune 50 companies, to local businesses and law firms, to the nation’s leading universities.  Jason serves the American Bar Association as Co-Editor in Chief of the Technology for the Litigator committee, has presented for organizations ranging from Lawline.com to the Maryland State Bar Association, and was recently interviewed on WBAL regarding mobile device analysis and the Boston Bombing.
