Topic: Next-Gen Cyber Defense Techniques

Abstract:

You're already compromised. How are "they" getting through? Let's break down the cyber kill chain and discuss some mitigation techniques. Our common goal must be to raise our security posture, vigilantly and continually, in order flush out the threat actors. Prepare to contribute and maybe even be a little offended, as your speaker may have some controversial views on the state of cyber defense in the government.

Speaker:

Johnathan Dempsey, Consulting Engineer

Palo Alto Networks Federal

Johnathan Dempsey is the Federal Consulting Engineer at Palo Alto Networks, where he delivers cyber defense solutions and training to US government agencies. With 23 years of industry experience, Johnathan has delved into cyber security operations, network engineering, and mission systems development. Prior to joining Palo Alto Networks in 2010, he has held senior engineering roles at Zeta Associates, Raytheon, CyberGuard, and FORE Systems. Johnathan is a Palo Alto Certified Network Security Engineer (CNSE) and a US Army veteran.
